Hannah Simpson

✏ UX designer πŸ’‘

A creative, adaptable and empathetic problem-solver who designs to bring positive change for people and planet.

Hi! I'm a former illustrator turned UX designer. I made books, led workshops, and designed gardens. Then I realised that my work can have a wider impact through technology. After a year of retraining and raising a baby, I made the move into UX design. I now work as a UX designer at Jisc πŸ™‚

KEY STRENGTHS

Problem solving

πŸ€”
I'm an analytical and visual thinker, at my happiest when faced with a challenge. I enjoy diving in to figure out what the problem actually is, before finding creative solutions.

Empathy

πŸ’ž
I care about people and I pay attention to the details, so that individual needs are met. Working directly with service users in a range of contexts such as schools, care settings and refugee camps has given me experience in understanding differing needs and making services more accessible.

Big drive to learn

πŸ’ͺ🏼
This year I designed an app, Edible Space, learning Figma and the end-to-end product design process along the way. Whilst pandemic-parenting my one year old, I took courses in prototyping, user research and UI design via LinkedIn Learning and Udemy; and basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript through FreeCodeCamp.
